Billed as the event of the fall, the Fashion
and Art Show to benefit the Southern California wildfire victims
lived up to the claims and dazzled its guests this Thursday past
In the stark concrete surroundings of downtown LA, Oasis
Locations delivered on what its name suggests right down to the
Persian rugs. The venue was transformed into an other-worldly
state with an extravagant display of lighting effects that all
but stole the show. First on the agenda was the silent auction
featuring pieces collected by event maestro Alan Semsar of
Barcelona Enterprises. The contemporary collection of paintings
and rugs attracted the attention of some very generous guests as
they feasted on a smorgasbord of meticulously presented hors d’
oeuvres and dainty dishes, sipping champagne and hearty
Californian wines.
Next came the fashion show, featuring the classic feminine
designs of Rochelle Rodriguez’s 2008 collection. With Oasis
Locations keen to be recognized as L.A.’s number one fashion
venue, the show was a sight to be seen as the models strutted
their stuff in the catwalk showroom, while outside more models
manned the Absolute Vodka Bar, which flowed all night to keep
the party mood in place. Also featured were models of a
different sort – the latest offerings from Audi and Porsche,
with guests lining up to have their picture taken with these
sexy, German luxury vehicles.
This was a classy event all round with cognac, Grand Marnier and
cigars served to accompany the wide assortment of desserts and
pastries laid out to complete this most enjoyable assault on the
senses. Event organizers delighted with the success of the
evening as key players from diverse industries mingled in
conversation and praised all aspects of the evening’s offerings.
